China Press Reports on USCEC's Training Program 美国《侨报》对中国培训团的报道
The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of China entrusted Stanford University and the United States – China Exchange Council (USCEC) to host a three-month “Public Policy Research” training program. The group consists of 30 delegates. After more than two months of intense training, the group leader Weimin Guo told the reporter that Stanford University attaches great importance to the training group, and arranged well-known professors from various colleges to teach. Stanford University also invited famous visiting professors came to talk with the delegates such as Dr. George Shultz, former US Secretary of State, Dr. William Perry, former Secretary of Defense, and Dr. John Taylor, former Deputy Minister of Finance. The Vice Chair of USCEC, Ms. Willa Wu said in addition to course training, USCEC arranged research activities and site visits for the group. Each delegate also was assigned with an American host family to let them learn about American life, culture and customs.
